Why Sterling’s CBD Is Not Marijuana

Most people are confused about CBD, marijuana, and medical marijuana..

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid of the cannabis plant. CBD can come from the hemp cannabis indica plant, as well as from the marijuana cannabis sativa plant.  They are very different plants just like lemons are very different than oranges, yet are both citrus plants.  Hemp derived CBD is not marijuana and it is not medical marijuana.  It can not get you high and only contains a trace amount of the psychotropic THC found in marijuana.  Sterling’s hemp derived CBD has been filtered to contain no THC.

Hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in all 50 states where marijuana-derived CBD, and medical marijuana, are not federally legal in any of the 50 states.  Some states have passed legislation making marijuana and medical marijuana state legal even though it is not federally legal and they require special licensing to sell or distribute it.

CBD from the hemp cannabis indica plant is non-psychotropic (it won’t get you high), whereas CBD from the marijuana cannabis sativa plant is psychotropic because it contains a large concentration of THC (it will get you high, as will medical marijuana). Thus, hemp-derived CBD can be more beneficial than marijuana-derived CBD.

Hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) will not make you high as it contains no more than .3% THC the main psychotropic ingredient in the marijuana cannabis sativa plant.  Sterling’s CBD contains absolutely no THC.

Hemp contains a high concentration of CBD and low concentration of THC, but marijuana is directly opposite.  Marijuana contains a high THC content.  Marijuana will make you high as it is a psychoactive or a mind-altering chemical. Marijuana has hallucinogenic, as well as depressant properties, it is often categorized as a depressant.

CBD and marijuana, both come from cannabis plants… very different cannabis plants.  Hemp is from the Cannabis indica plant and marijuana is from the cannabis sativa plant.  This is what makes it so confusing.  Just like an oak tree and a fir tree are both trees, they are just very different trees.  While CBD is a phytocannabinoid in the hemp cannabis indica plant, marijuana is psychotropic and from the cannabis sativa plant.
